Sr. Policy Director, Complex Care

Michelle Martin

As Senior Policy Director for Complex Care, Michelle leads the development of policy positioning, associated advocacy and thought leadership strategies for expanding access to long term services and supports for Medicaid beneficiaries, including those who are dually eligible and those who may benefit from early supports to prevent decline. Michelle’s work includes fostering partnerships aimed at improving access and services for individuals to live a healthy and happy life safely in the setting of their choosing.

Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Michelle served as the Executive Director of Complex Care at AHIP where she led the organization’s focus on the continuum of long-term care. Built on the experience of being a caregiver for her grandmother, Michelle’s career has been focused on improving access and services in the Medicaid program, including work as a lobbyist for the Affordable Care Act and various policy roles focused on long term services and supports. Michelle practiced law for several years in her home state of Michigan before she moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 2008.
